Caustic Soda Flakes

Caustic soda flakes are white and flaky. They are highly corrosive and hygroscopic, and can be used as a desiccant. However, they cannot be used to dry sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen chloride gases. They are prone to deliquescence in the air. Sodium hydroxide is extremely soluble in water, with solubility increasing as the temperature rises. When dissolved, it releases a large amount of heat. At 288K, its saturated solution concentration can reach 16.4 mol/L (1:1). Its aqueous solution has astringent taste and a slippery feeling, and the solution is strongly alkaline, exhibiting all the general properties of alkalis.
